Parenting Wins

Parenting Wins—Sometimes, with kids, we’re just doing our best, crossing our fingers, and waiting 15 years to find out if we did the right thing.

Parenting Wins

Well, now that my kids are older, it’s my time of reckoning! So far, it’s looking good, and I see signs that I got it right. Little things, like my youngest reigning in a tantrum and my super-private teen opening up. And big things, like my eldest navigating his first year of college like a boss. I busted my ass to parent well, and I think I might have done it y’all!

This feeling is EVERYTHING, and here’s why I’m sharing it:

We need examples of wins - the messy victories from parenting in the trenches, so we know it’s possible. I don’t just want you to know it’s possible, and I want you to know how it’s possible.

There are 2 concepts I used to get my parenting on track and that I help my clients do too:

  1. We can’t do better if we don’t know better. I didn't intuitively know how to handle my kids calmly or how to respond in ways that would change their behavior. I had to learn solid parenting and unlearn plenty, too. This is what I teach, and it is GOLD.
  2. Deal with your baggage. You have issues. I had (have) issues. No amount of learning could change my parenting if I wasn’t willing to look at my issues head-on. It’s hard, and it sucks to even admit you need to! I help my clients with this, so the parenting stuff really happens.

My clients and I don’t do this alone.

I had help, and my clients have help. How could we have learned or grown without it? Are you expecting yourself to learn and grow without it?

With a coach, those finger-crossing moments tend to go right, even when we have to wait to see the proof ;) With someone reminding us who we are, teaching new skills, and reassuring us when we’re doubtful, we spend less time blindly stabbing at solutions and more time trying new things for solid reasons, even when we’re not sure.

Are you on the right track?

How much time do you spend wondering if you’re doing the right thing and wishing for a sign that you’re on the right track? How would it be to know you’re nailing it? What is that worth?

If you’re ready for this, I’m ready for you. Set up a free discovery call, and let’s go!
